Academic Resource Center
The TCA Academic Resource Centers (ARC) provide supportive learning environments for students with diagnosed learning differences and other health impairments (OHI) with the goal of equipping students with strategies and skills so they may fully participate in the curriculum as it is delivered in the classroom. Support is furnished through basic accommodations rather than modifications to our existing programs. Although TCA delivers an excellent education to a broad range of learners, we are limited in our capacity to adequately serve students with significant learning or emotional disabilities.
Each school presents a developmentally appropriate program to aid students who struggle academically. The Lower School places emphasis on early remediation of identified problems. The Middle School ARC provides academic support with an increasing emphasis on executive skill training. As Upper School continues this process, students are led toward increasing independence as they navigate a rigorous college prep curriculum.
