A: The Admission Committee considers the following:

1. Families who are growing in their personal walk with the Lord and involved in their local church. At least one parent must be a Christian, and students in grades 9-12 must also be Christians.
2. Students whose academic records demonstrate proven capability to succeed in our program. TCA requires that students score at grade-level or above on the admission test.
3. Students whose recommendations show a behavioral history that is in harmony with the behavioral expectations of Trinity Christian Academy.
4. It is our desire to keep families together, and we do give priority consideration to current TCA families, current employees and alumni. All applicants, including siblings, children of employees and legacy children, must meet the above qualifications to be considered for admission.
5. Our wait pool is made up of qualified applicants for whom there were no available spots. Our wait pool is not a “list” with a position ranking (1, 2, 3, etc.,) but rather a “pool” of applicants. Should an opening become available, the Admission Committee will convene, review all applicants and select the most appropriate candidate for the opening. Applicants in the wait pool will need to go through the application process again for the following school year.

Important Dates and Deadlines
To be considered for the first round of decisions:

• December 15, 2025: Admission application deadline.
• January 30, 2026: Checklist items submitted and testing scheduled.

Observation dates to choose from for preK-4 candidates:

• January 5, 2026: Admission observation for preK and Kindergarten.
• January 24, 2026: Admission observation for preK and Kindergarten and achievement testing for grades 1-4.

Admission Decision:

• March 13, 2026: Admission decisions communicated.

A: Students applying for preK must be four years old on or before September 1 of the entering year. Students applying for kindergarten must be five years old on or before September 1 of the entering year.

A: Yes, we will take a student mid-year if he/she meets our requirements and space is available.

A: No. TCA does offer financial assistance to families, but it is awarded strictly according to financial need. Instructions on how to apply for financial assistance can be found on the Tuition Assistance tab of the website. Additional questions may be directed to our CFO, Mr. Tony Van Slyke.

A:  TCA is an independent, non-denomination school, founded on traditional Christian values.  Our families are members at approximately 200 churches in the DFW metroplex, representing over 20 different denominations and religious groups.  

A: Yes, we do for students in grades PreK-8.  Students are supervised before school by TCA teachers and staff, from 7:30 a.m. for Lower School and from 7 a.m. for Middle School. Our after-school care program offers supervision, activities and homework/study time for Lower School and Middle School Students from the end of the school day until 5:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday and 5 p.m. on Friday. Parents are charged $13/hr. with a cap of $300. We also offer enrichment programs.
 

A: Yes. TCA offers enrichment programs after school for students in grades K-8. These semester-long offerings include classes and clinics on topics such as dance, soccer, martial arts, cheer, basketball, chess, piano lessons, fine motor skill enhancement, Lego robotics, STEAM and more. Please contact Justin Zappia with questions about our current offerings. Lower School: Students are permitted to enter the classroom at 7:45 a.m. Class begins at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. Monday–Thursday and at 1:40 p.m. on Friday. 

Middle School: Students are permitted to enter the 7/8 building at 7:15 a.m. Classes begin at 8:15 a.m. Monday–Thursday  and they dismiss at 3:30 p.m. Classes begin at 8 a.m. on Friday and they dismiss at 2:15 p.m. Students arriving prior to 7:30 a.m. must report to the 7/8 MS Lobby. 

Upper School: 

A: TCA does offer support through the Academic Resource Center in each of its schools (LS/MS/US) for students with documented learning differences, language processing disorders and/or ADHD in order to maximize their potential for success within the TCA curriculum. Our program does not offer separate curriculum, nor does the program modify curriculum. To be considered for acceptance in the program, each student must have a complete battery of psycho-educational testing by a qualified educational diagnostician or psychologist.
