Visual Arts
Our award-winning Visual Arts Department is one of the most decorated in the area, and our art students continually take top honors in art competitions with other private and public schools.
During Lower School our PreK through fourth grades are introduced to a variety of art forms and famous artists.
In Middle School art electives vary by grade. Fifth-grade art is a trimester-long introduction to the visual arts. Art history is integrated into student projects including, but not limited to, drawing, painting and sculpting. In sixth- through eighth-grades students may choose art as a year long elective. Courses include studio art, 2D/3D art and pre-studio art.
Upper School art includes beginning, honors and AP tracks. Courses include eMedia, ePhoto, honors studio art, digital art, electronic collage, video animation, drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, video documentary, sculpture, 3D mixed media and ceramics. AP art includes art preparation, practicum and exhibition.
