In This Section

AP Art

The Advanced Placement Art Class is an advanced course with the equivalent demands of an intermediate college level course. It is designed for the accelerated senior art student who has dedicated their time and creativity to the making of art. They will develop and implement their own original artistic thought within their artwork.

Students will be expected to explore and challenge the limitations of both the materials and their ideas. The opportunity to travel to world renown collections outside of Texas, such as New York and Los Angeles, are part of the learning experience. The final objective is to create an Art Exhibition and a portfolio, which gives evidence of the student’s concepts and thoughts in a cohesive body of work, complete with an artist statement describing the work displayed in the Trinity Art Gallery (TAG).
