The Middle School library serves over 450 students in fifth- through eighth-grades. By providing access to a variety of information sources, services and materials the Middle School library supports the TCA middle school curriculum and meets the needs of students in regard to independent study and personal reading choices.

  • Class Schedule

    Fifth-graders come to the library every two weeks for library skills lessons and book check-out. The fifth-grade library skills curriculum focuses on literary genres and beginning research skills. 

    Sixth-graders come to the library every two weeks for library skills lessons and book check-out. The sixth-grade library skills curriculum focuses on research skills using both traditional reference materials and Internet resources. 

    Seventh- and eighth-grade students do not have a scheduled library class, but participate in "book talks", which are oral books reports each trimester. 

    All students are welcome to come to the library during their study hall to work on homework or other school assignments.
  • Library Computer System

    The Middle School library uses the Follett Software computer system for our computerized card catalog system, circulation and collection management. Using the Online Catalog link to the right, students may search the online catalog from home or at school.
  • Library Collection

    The Middle School collection consists of over 14,000 materials including books, periodicals, audiobooks, VHS tapes, DVDs and CDs.  In addition to fun, fiction beach reads, non-fiction research materials, interesting biographies and more, the Middle School library collection contains current parenting resources available for parent check out and relevant classroom and teaching resources available to faculty and staff.
